A Game of Geste is Rat Knight Games' original role playing game, currently still in play-testing. It uses a d100 system for task resolution with both attributes and skills contributing to success. Skills are learned in themed packaged called "arts" to ensure that a character will have an adequate assortment of skills relating to the subject of the art. Combat is designed to be dynamic with a fair amount of detail without needing to refer to numerous tables to resolve a given attack. The magic system allows for potentially unlimited magic use but every spell cast is a gamble that may exhaust some of a character's magical potential.
Echgallan, the play-test edition of A Game of Geste, is currently available. It features eleven playable races, five professions, and a setting - the island of Echgallan. The island is peopled by many races and nations. Some manage to live in peace with their neighbors while others are in constant strife. Evil cults, barbaric orc hords, savage goblins, an ambitious king, and a mysterious order of wizards all threaten the fragile peace of the island and provide ample opportunities for a group of adventurers to prove their mettle.
